Joe Shaughnessy (born July 6, 1992) is an Irish professional football defender who plays for Forfar Athletic, on loan from Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen.

He signed for Aberdeen in June 2009, having previously played for Irish club Mervue United as a youngster.[1] Shaughnessy made his debut on 14 May 2011 against Hibernian.[2]
On 30 August 2011, Shaughnessy went on loan to Forfar Athletic until January.[3]
In May 2010, he was called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-18 squad.[4]
